Privacy Policy

How PostCheck handles your photos and data.

Effective July 15, 2026

On-device photo comparison

PostCheck compares your photos on your device using on-device machine learning. Photos selected only for comparison are analyzed locally and are not uploaded for that comparison.

What uses the network

If you explicitly request caption or hashtag suggestions, the selected photo and context such as your goal, tone, and optional keywords are sent over an encrypted connection to our service providers for processing.

If you explicitly request a cloud photo-enhancement operation, the selected photo and enhancement settings are sent over an encrypted connection to our service providers for processing. Features identified as on-device do not upload the photo.

We retain service records only as needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and comply with legal obligations for these features. Service providers may apply their own limited retention practices under their data-processing terms.

Account, subscription, and credit data

When you use PostCheck we create an anonymous account identifier so your settings, subscription entitlements, and AI-credit balance work across sessions. Subscriptions and AI-credit purchases are processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat; we receive only the purchase status and virtual-currency balance needed to provide features, not your payment details.

Analytics and diagnostics

We use Firebase services to collect app interactions, crash logs, performance diagnostics, and device identifiers so we can understand reliability and improve the app. Remote Config may also deliver app configuration.

Where advertising is available, Google Mobile Ads and its consent tools may process device or advertising identifiers, approximate location derived from an IP address, ad interactions, and diagnostics for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and compliance. Your consent choices and regional requirements determine how advertising data is used.

Local history

Saved comparisons are stored only on your device. You can turn off “Save results locally” in Settings at any time, and deleting the app removes all saved data.

Your choices and contact

You can disable local result saving in the app. You may request deletion of server-side account data by emailing support@postcheck.app. You can manage advertising consent where the consent interface is available and can manage device-level advertising settings through your operating system.
